Business Development Manager
Job Description
The Business Development Manager is responsible for leading, expanding, and managing strategic relationships with the nation’s largest automotive dealer groups, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM)s, and key strategic dealer partners for OMA. This role drives revenue growth, portfolio quality, and market share by developing high-impact programs, negotiating enterprise-level agreements, and ensuring flawless execution across all national accounts. The ideal candidate brings deep auto finance expertise, strong executive presence, and a proven ability to influence clients at the highest levels of the automotive industry.
In the Role
Strategic Relationship Management
Serve as the primary executive-level liaison for national dealer groups, OEMs, digital retailing platforms, and strategic dealer partners.
Develop long-term account strategies that align with lender objectives and partner business goals.
Lead monthly/quarterly business reviews, performance analyses, and strategic planning sessions with senior stakeholders.
Business Growth & Revenue Leadership
Drive volume, penetration, and profitability across national accounts through targeted programs and initiatives.
Identify new business opportunities, emerging channels, and partnership models to expand market presence.
Negotiate national agreements, incentive structures, and program terms that support sustainable growth.
Cross-Functional Leadership
Collaborate with credit, funding, risk, marketing, product, and operations teams to ensure seamless execution of national programs.
Provide market intelligence and partner feedback to influence product development, pricing strategies, and operational enhancements.
Lead internal alignment to support account needs, resolve escalations, and optimize partner experience.
Performance Management
Monitor account performance metrics including volume, approval rates, pull-through, portfolio quality, and profitability.
Develop and present executive-level reporting, forecasts, and strategic recommendations.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry standards.
Requirements
8–12+ years of experience in auto finance, lending, or automotive retail/wholesale.
Proven success managing large, complex accounts or dealer groups at a national and regional level.
Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence senior executives.
Deep understanding of indirect auto lending, credit structures, dealer operations, and F&I processes.
Excellent communication, analytical, and strategic planning capabilities.
Ability to travel nationally as needed.
Preferred
Experience working with OEMs, national dealer groups, or digital retailing platforms.
Background in building national programs or launching new financial products.
Bachelor’s or MBA in business, finance, or related field preferred
