The Staff Accountant will support the traditional monthly close responsibilities related primarily to bi-weekly payroll and other compensation programs. Additionally, this individual will collaborate with other team members to support compiling data for external reporting as well as projects aligned with improving the efficiency of accounting and reporting processes.
In the Role
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for assigned accounts
- Prepare various accrual related schedules for discussion with business partners
- Research account variances and document monthly variance explanations
- Prepare support for both internal and external audits
- Prepare and review data utilized for SEC reporting disclosures
- Ensure adherence to accounting policies and principles
Requirements
- CPA or CPA candidate is preferred
- 1-2 years of experience in accounting roles
- Excellent organizational skills
- Solid basic accounting skills
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Ability to think, and work, independently resolving challenging issues under tight deadlines
Preferred:
- Consumer lending, financial services and payroll accounting experience a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
