Senior Engineer Platform
Location: Evansville, IN
OneMain Financial is looking for candidates interested in a dynamic position with our Applications Systems Infrastructure Team. You will provide web services administration and support services, focusing on a containerized platform (OpenShift), monitoring and security, and automation. You should be familiar with Scalable Architecture and Enterprise Application Administration.
You will report directly to the Platform Manager and will work with other administrators and analysts in the Application Infrastructure department to provide the company-wide support, and administration required to meet the diverse needs of the entire organization.
Responsibilities:
- Perform senior engineering responsibilities for migrations of customer applications from legacy infrastructure to cloud or hybrid solutions, working closely with diverse teams within the organization.
- Actively participate in setting DevOps delivery standards, processes and policies to ensure executional excellence on cloud delivery, standardizing tools, methods and systems to enable efficiency, best-practice sharing and effectiveness in cloud delivery portfolios and projects.
- Proactively monitor hardware platforms and produce system status, reports, dashboards and key performance indicators that help identify potential issues.
- Monitor, maintain, and resolve Level 2/3 support tickets, documenting all activities performed in ticket resolution.
- Identify common and/or repetitive issues and document to allow for cross-training and improved support.
- Develop and code infrastructure applications.
- Infrastructure automation/infrastructure as code, and configuration as code.
- Communicate and coordinate with multiple development groups on identifying and correcting issues.
- Create and Update user and technical documentation.
- Communicate with key leadership and recommend changes or improvements.
Required Qualifications:
- 3- 5 years of recent combined experience in IT and using DevOps tools.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience
- Experience with container native technologies, Kubernetes, application processes, and networking technology.
- Be familiar with DevOps Concepts, Pipelines and Application deployment.
- Energetic, organized, and skilled with today’s technologies; willing to research and learn new technologies.
- Highly self-motivated and directed with keen attention to detail.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team-based environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multi-task and support multiple priorities.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours; some off-hours support is required.
- Ability and willingness to share 24x7 support obligations.
- Experience and/or knowledge of the following: OpenShift/Kubernetes, Ansible, Docker, GitHub, Grafana, Prometheus, Elasticsearch, GitOps, Argo-CD, Node.js, Python, Java.
Target base salary range is which is based on various factors including skills and work experience. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for a competitive additional compensation program that is based on individual and company performance.
This role is Hybrid. You should be located within a committable distance to one of our offices located in Baltimore MD or Evansville IN.
