The Recovery Collections Manager will be responsible for managing several teams of collectors within the Consumer Lending Operations. The Recovery Collections Manager will be responsible for performing strategic planning, process design proposals, budgeting, capacity planning, policy recommendations and employee development.
In the Role
- Coordinating with legal, policy and compliance, credit risk, sales and other business areas to maintain compliance with regulations and overall credit risk strategy.
- Effectively managing the assigned budget forecasting and expense control.
- Maintaining perspective of current and future technical innovations being developed for use in the process design and asset recovery fields.
- Ensuring compliance monitoring and internal controls are in place, including processes for management of operational risk, in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
- Managing daily operation of collection results and minimize company losses for assigned area.
- Managing and guide staff in handling unusual and difficult situations in determining the most effective method for maximizing benefit to the company.
- Leading and developing an effective team through communication, performance management, development plans and reward/recognition practices.
- Ensuring the operational unit exemplifies the OneMain Mission, Business Principles and customer commitment.
Requirements
- Ensuring the operational unit exemplifies the OneMain Mission, Business Principles and customer commitment.
- Five years’ experience in a high-volume Collections environment
- Minimum of 3 years leading a large team in collections
Preferred
- Bachelor degree preferred, but not required
- Knowledge or exposure to process design and engineering analysis and collections strategies.
- Familiarity with city, state, and federal rules and regulations related to collection activities.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Clear thinking and decision-making
- Advanced oral and written communication skills
- Language skills in Spanish highly desired but not required
- Advanced Interpersonal communication skills
- Possess strong influencing and negotiation skills to work with internal and external resources
